ABOUT ERIC ADAMS
34 years behind the camera.
One goal: teach you the method.
Before opening FotoFly, I traveled the country opening studios for my father's nationwide company. I've spent my career figuring out the mechanics of how to create beautiful portraits. Now I teach it as aĀ method anyone can learn.
ForĀ twelve years, I operated an in-person Academy that taught aspiring photographers. The tuition was $15,000. FotoMethod allows me to teach the very same method at a much smaller price.
WHY I BUILT THIS
Photography changed my life. I want it to change yours.
I started shooting portraits in 1992 with a used camera, zero training, and a lot of bad exposures. There was no YouTube, no online courses, no community to lean on. I learned by failing ā slowly, painfully, and expensively. In the first decade of my career, I literally created images for tens of thousands of families. My learning curve was steep.
In that initial decade,Ā I figured out something most photographers never do: the principles underneath the pretty pictures. Why certain light creates emotion. Why specific hand placements feel natural instead of stiff. Why some poses flatter every body type while others make people cringe at their own photos.
"I didn't just want to be a good photographer. I wanted to understand why things worked ā so I could teach anyone to do it."
For 12 years I ran an in-person photography academy, charging $15,000 per student. I trained over 2,000 photographers ā many of whom went on to open their own studios, earn PPA certifications, and win competitions. No one in the world has trained this many portrait photographers one-on-one.
But $15,000 shut out most of the people who needed the training most: the talented, passionate beginners who couldn't justify that investment yet. So I built FotoMethod ā the same principles, the same system, the same results ā for $37 a month.
Every lesson insideĀ FotoMethodĀ comes from real sessions with real clients. I don't teach theory from a whiteboard. I show you the exact mechanics I use in my own four studios, every single week. And every month, I review your images live so you're never stuck wondering if you're on the right track.
THE FOTOMETHOD DIFFERENCE
A method, not a highlight reel.
Most photography education shows you someone talented at work and hopes you absorb it. FotoMethod breaks the craft into learnable, repeatable mechanics.
Mechanics, Not Magic
Every technique is broken into concrete steps you can practice and repeat. No guessing, no "you just have to feel it."
Real Sessions, Real Clients
Every training comes from behind-the-scenes footage of actual client sessions ā not staged demos with models.
Principles First
Learn why something works so you can adapt it to any situation. Not just "do what I do" ā understand the principle underneath.
Monthly Mentorship
New trainings everyĀ weekĀ plus live image critique monthly. Submit your work and get direct feedback from Eric.
Complete Curriculum
Eventually, 17 chapters covering light, posing, camera control, composition, editing, and the business of photography.
Community Support
A private group of photographers at every level ā sharing work, asking questions, and growing together.
REAL PHOTOGRAPHERS. REAL RESULTS.
What FotoMethod graduates are doing now.
"I donāt think any other mentorship or online education would have been as successful if I hadnāt had a great intro dive into all that photography is. I learned about gear, tools, software, posing, lighting, expression and client interaction among many other subjects. The most valuable thing I took from this apart from the education was the friendships and connections I made in the industry. Iām glad this was my first photography education because I was able to develop good building blocks, skills and habits to grow from there. Throughout the years I have been able to reach back out for advice and mentorship. "

Professional Photographer
"I have now been a professional photographer for almost 7 years, getting a start with so much knowledge and confidence under my belt really helped move my business forward. I have since earned my Certified Professional Photographer and Master Photographer degrees from Professional Photographers of America, as well as been published in several magazines and have won awards for my photography in competitions. I owe it all to my solid start from Eric Adams!" "
